Abuse in later life, sometimes known as ‘Elder Abuse,’ occurs in all communities. It affects people of all ethnic, cultural, racial, economic, and religious backgrounds. TTD collaborates with community partners to enhance safety for all victims.

TTD provides advocacy services to address the needs of people ages 50 or older who are experiencing or have experienced emotional, psychological, physical, financial, or sexual abuse. The abusive person may be a spouse, former spouse, partner, adult child, extended family member, or caregiver.

As part of the abuse in later life program, TTD staff may assist with:

  • Direct service, safety planning, and support
  • Consultation and education for community partners
  • Court advocacy
  • Resources and referrals to other services
